The city of Garden Grove is the fifth largest city in northern Orange County. The city is, 55 km south of Los Angeles, is a flourishing community that is full of cultural diversity. Garden Grove had been already a flourishing farming community by the 1900. Garden Grove had a major railroad, a Post Office, and a bank. Then two natural disasters, a flood in 1916 and an earthquake in 1933, struck the area and the residents had to pick up the pieces and rebuild the town again. After the World War II, soldiers return from the war came to the area to settle and raise families. This created a real estate boom, marking the start of the largest growth cycle in Garden Grove’s history.
The City of Garden Grove was later incorporated in 1956 and was considered to be America’s fastest growing city at that time.
